Freddie Freeman and Aaron Judge have been great during the 2023 season. It comes as no surprise that both have won player of the month awards in their respective leagues. Let's take a quick dive into their insane May's.
Aaron Judge, OF, New York Yankees
Since returning from the IL, Aaron Judge has put the Yankees on his back and has thrived. His numbers from 2022 to today are almost identical and everyone knows how his 2022 went. Judge has slashed .342 AVG, 12 HR, 25 RBI, with a 1.356 OPS. His May was the best in the American League and he's looking to bring exactly what he did in May into June. The Captain of the Yankees is soaring with the club just 6.0 GB in the AL East.
Freddie Freeman, 1B, Los Angeles Dodgers
Just last season, Freddie Freeman joined the Dodgers and has now blossomed into a staple within the franchise. Being a vet on a loaded Dodgers team, Freeman has embraced Los Angeles and has now won player of the month. In May, Freeman slashed .400 AVG, 6 HR, 26 RBI, with a 1.184 OPS. His Dodgers currently sit atop of the NL West as he looks to continue his hot streak into June.
