The Yankees are placing their superstar, Aaron Judge on the IL for the second time in 2023. This time for a contusion and a sprain of the right big toe. He suffered that injury on the catch he made in RF against the Dodgers.
For the Yankees, this is just another injury they have faced in 2023. This adds to them also placing Nestor Cortes and Ryan Weber on the IL. The injuries do not seem to be going away for the Bombers anytime soon.
Aaron Judge going to the IL seems to be just a big statement on how the Yankees season has been going. Without Judge, the Yankees are 6-7. They currently sit in 3rd place, just 2.5 GB of the Orioles and 7.5 of the Rays.
The usual rehab for Judge's injury sits at 6-8 weeks. He could be back beforehand or even after that depending on how well his rehab goes. No matter how long Judge will be out, the Yankees lost their superstar at a very bad time.
