The St. Louis Cardinals main goal this offseason is bettering their 2023 24th ranked pitching rotation. The signings of Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson have kickstarted that process. However, the signings should not be their only moves for the rotation. Luckily for the Red Birds, they have plenty of options left.
At the top of the list is 2023 NL Cy Young winner, Blake Snell. After his phenomenal 2023 campaign, Snell is set up for a huge payday. After pitching to a 2.25 ERA, he could become the ace of the Cardinals rotation.
Another option for St. Louis, is the phenom out of Japan, Yoshinobu Yamamoto. With Yamamoto being only 25, the best pitcher in Japan just got posted to Major League Baseball. Yamamoto's impressive 1.21 ERA in 164.0 innings pitched, would fit the Cardinals rotation perfectly.
Lastly, is Sonny Gray who finished second in AL Cy Young voting. Gray bounced back and became one of the best pitchers in the league for Minnesota. Gray's 2.79 ERA paved the way for Minnesota's playoff push.
