After Phenomenal Start, Phillies Pitcher Runs Into Trouble

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez was off to a historic start in 2024. He was the leading candidate to win the National League Cy Young. In addition to that, Suarez was on track to start the All-Star game for the NL. As of late, something has been off for Ranger Suarez.

Ranger Suarez has allowed 11 earned runs in his past two starts. Before his past two starts, Suarez allowed just 11 total earned runs in his previous nine starts.

This is the first time in Ranger Suarez's career he has allowed 5+ runs in consecutive appearances. There’s obviously something going on with Ranger Suarez. It could be an injury, or it could just be a rough few starts. Every player goes through tough stretches at the major league level.

Throughout all of the MLB, each person knows what Ranger Suarez can bring. We all saw it earlier this season. It’s just a matter of time until he can just have another good start and he will be back on track.

Even though Ranger Suarez is struggling, the Phillies still continue to find ways to win. Other players are stepping up big time. The Phillies still hold the best record in baseball.
