The Cleveland Guardians recently DFA'd Alfonso Rivas which allowed the Los Angeles Angels to claim him to add to their depth at first base. MLB teams can never have enough depth, so anytime a team can add to their depth, it's good.

The Los Angeles Angels have been pretty active with adding depth to their team this off-season. It's unknown what kind of factor Alfonso Rivas will make with the Angels, but if he can perform well in spring training, he might be able to earn himself a spot on the major league roster.
