The Los Angeles Angels have announced that they agreed to a contract extension with General Manager Perry Minasian. The extension will keep him in Los Angeles through the 2026 season.
The Angels posted a statement on the extended of Perry Minasian:
"Over the last four years, Perry and his baseball operations staff have begun to lay the foundation for a bright future of Angels Baseball," said Angels Owner Arte Moreno.
"We have been impressed by the steps Perry has taken to infuse our Major League team with young and exciting talent while also revamping our player development process.
We believe this extension will allow him to continue the vision of building sustainable success throughout the Angels Organization and deliver a championship for our fans."
Perry Minasian became the General Manager of the Los Angeles Angels on November 12th, 2020. He became just the 13th GM in the history of the Angels.
During his time in Los Angeles, Perry Minasian has drafted very good. He’s made multiple notable trades. Some notable players that Minasian has drafted is Zach Neto, Ben Joyce, and Nolan Schanuel. All three of those players are main guys on the Angels current MLB roster.
It hasn’t just been good drafts for Perry Minasian. There’s one very notable trade that Minasian has made. That is bringing in Logan O’Hoppe from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for outfielder Brandon Marsh. O’Hoppe has become one of the best players on the Angels roster.
The Angels will now have a General Manager in Perry Minasian for years to come. As shown above, the Angels have gotten significantly better at drafting players with Minasian as the GM. They will look to continue that with him and continue to get better for the future.
