The Los Angeles Angels have slowly made their way into the free agent market as they prepare to move on from generational talent, Shohei Ohtani. Needing to bolster their pitching, they have signed former Guardians five-year veteran, Zach Plesac, to a deal that is currently unknown, per Jon Heyman of the NY Post.

Zach Plesac has spent the last five seasons in a Guardians uniform and has pitched to a career 4.20 ERA, posting a 26-27 record. Plesac spent some time on the injured list last season, pitching just 21.1 innings. However, Plesac has shown he can be a workhorse, pitching over 130 innings in two seasons, over 115 once, and over 55 in the shortened 2020 season.

The Angels always seem to be in the market for starting pitching, and rightfully so. The Angels found themselves ranked 23rd in team ERA, posting a 4.64 ERA. Plesac is a low risk, high reward signing for the Angels. Being a proven work horse means a lot in the league and having the right team around you, Zach Plesac could very well be a positive signing for Los Angeles.
