The Angels announced yesterday that 3B Gio Urshela will miss the remainder of 2023 with a pelvis fracture. This comes as a big loss to Los Angeles as Urshela was putting together a nice season for himself.
In 214 ABs, Urshela slashed .299/.329/.374 with 2 home runs and 24 RBI. With Urshela heading to the IL for the remainder of 2023, this leaves the Angels with another high contact hitter down for significant time.
The Angels are currently having a solid season, sitting 3rd in the AL West, holding a wild card spot. With Urshela down, they will call upon their bigger producers, as well as role players, to start stepping up and pushing this Angels club into October.
