Angels Superstar Sidelined With Fracture

Mike Trout via USATSI

Yesterday, the Angels announced that superstar Mike Trout is heading to the IL with a wrist fracture. The fracture designates from his hamate bone in his left hand. The injury will most likely keep him sidelined through the MLB trade deadline.

Trout was asked by reporters if he'll be back this season. His answer calmed the baseball world.

"Of course."

The Angels have been keeping themselves afloat in the AL West as well as the AL Wildcard Standings. With Trout going down, that obviously puts a huge damper in their plans to their path into October baseball.

Trout's 2023 thus far is exactly what everyone expected. Slashing .263/.369/.493 with 18 home runs and 44 RBI, Trout is doing what he can to keep the Angels right where they are.

It's no secret that the Angels have not had much postseason experience in the Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani era. Baseball wants to see two of the games best in October and it's going to take the whole team's best effort to get them there.
