Angels Surprisingly Call Up AA Prospect

The 2023 MLB Draft took place on July 9 through July 11. The Angels selected Florida Atlantic standout, Nolan Schanuel, with the 11th overall pick. Now less than six weeks later, the Angels called him up to the big leagues.

In 21 minor league games, Schanuel slashed .370/.510/.493. In his MLB debut last night, Schanuel record his first career hit as well as worked a walk.

There's no telling how long Los Angeles will decide to keep the rookie INF up in the majors, but it's already a shock he's up here. As everyone knows, it takes years to develop these players through the minors. For Nolan Schanuel, that dream just came a few years earlier than most.
