The Astros have been another team whose been struggling when it comes to injuries. Another one has been added to the list, Lance McCullers.

McCullers underwent right forearm surgery to repair the flexor tendon and remove a bone spur, the team announced on Wednesday. McCullers is out for the rest of the 2023 season, which means he won't throw a single pitch for 2023.

McCullers is expected to pitch in 2024, at some point. There's not a return date, nor a timetable for his return as of right now.

As of Lance's injury history, this is just another one added to a long list.

  • March 2023 - Forearm (out for season)

  • April 2022 - Forearm (60-day IL)

  • May 2021 - Shoulder (10-day IL)

  • September 2020 - Neck (10-day IL)

  • March 2019 - Tommy John (out for season)

  • August 2018 - Elbow (10-day IL)

The Astros have been hit with many injuries this season and McCullers just makes that list a bit longer. He's dealt with many injuries in his career and the hope is, he can work something out for him to stay on the field in the future.
