It was announced yesterday that RHP Luis Garcia will undergo Tommy John Surgery and will be out for the remainder of the 2023 Season, per team GM Dana Brown.
The defending World Series champions are off to a slow start to the 2023 season. Currently sitting 3rd in the AL West with a record of 17-15. With the injuries piling up, this could mean that slow start could continue.
Garcia has thrown a total of 27.0 innings this season. All while pitching to a 4.00 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and collecting 31 SO. Luis Garcia was not off to the start he hoped, and was projected to get back on track as the season progressed.
Everyone knows what Garcia is capable of when he's on the mound. This loss is a big one to the Space City ballclub as Garcia will set his sights to the 2024 season.
