The Athletics announced yesterday that they have DFA'd their longtime outfielder, Ramón Laureano. Laureano has been with the Athletics for the last 6 seasons and has a career 2.46 AVG with the club.
Laureano is currently slashing .213/.280/.364 with 6 home runs and 21 RBI. The move seemingly was foreshadowed for the last couple seasons. Once Oakland decided it was time for their full-on rebuild, Laureano was the last man standing.
Ramón Laureano will most likely be picked up quite quickly. A veteran bat who can provide good defense, along with a solid bat, will attract interest from teams gearing up for October.
