The Atlanta Braves have acquired seven-time All Star pitcher, Chris Sale from the Boston Red Sox. Highly talented prospect, Vaughn Grissom will be headed to Boston, also cash considerations. Chris Sale waived his no-trade clause to be traded to the Braves.
Chris Sale has been hit with many injuries during his long career. Chris Sale has been in Major League Baseball since 2010, when he made his debut with Chicago (AL). In the last three years, Chris Sale has made just 31 starts total.
When Chris Sale is healthy, he's one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Sale has made 343 career starts, he's posted a 120-80 record. Sale has a 3.10 ERA, 2,189 SO, 1.047 WHIP, and a 47.2 WAR.
The player who is headed to Boston, is Vaughn Grissom. Grissom is just 22-years-old. He hasn't seen much time in the MLB, but when he has, he's shined. In 236 AB's, Grissom is slashing .287/.339/.407, with 5 HR's, 27 RBI's, and a .746 OPS. Vaughn Grissom was Atlanta's No. 7 ranked prospect.
This could be a big trade for the Atlanta Braves. Although, they need the 34-year-old Chris Sale to stay healthy. Vaughn Grissom is still young, so he can turn out to be pretty good. It's going to be interesting to see how this trade ends up for both the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox.
