Atlanta Braves Announce an Extension With GM

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a contract extension with their general manager, Alex Anthopoulos. The contact extension will take him through the 2031 season as the GM of the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have won six NL East championships with the Braves, and he will definitely win more.

Alex Anthopoulos has done many great things with the Atlanta Braves. He's one a World Series with the Braves, but the thing that most stands out with Alex Anthopoulos as a general manager, is the extensions that he gives out to his players. Here are some notable extensions that Alex Anthopoulos has given out.

OF Ronald Acuña Jr.: Eight years, $100 million.

2B Ozzie Albies: Seven years, $35 million.

3B Austin Riley: Ten years, $212 million.

OF Michael Harris II: Eight years, $75 million.

SP Spencer Strider: Six years, $75 million.

1B: Matt Olson: Eight years, $168 million.

C: Sean Murphy: Six years, $63 million.

SP: Chris Sale: Two years, $38 million.

Alex Anthopoulos has really pieced together a great ball club for the Atlanta Braves. He's going to continue that even more. With this, the Braves are continuing to believe in their GM Alex Anthopoulos, as they should. The Braves are in good hands for a very long time.
