The Toronto Blue Jays and veteran third baseman, Justin Turner, agreed to a one-year contract through the 2024 season.
Turner, 39, has quite the resume, being a 2x All-Star, Roberto Clemente Award Winner, and World Series Champion. Turner spent last season with Boston after spending nine seasons in Los Angeles (NL).
The 15-year veteran slashed .276/.345/.455 with 23 home runs. Turner not only had a quality season with the bat, but also provided above average defense at the hot corner.
There's no telling if this takes Toronto out of the running for their free agent, Matt Chapman, but the signing of Turner points to that. Justin Turner adds another power bat to an already studded Toronto lineup. His veteran presence will do wonders for him and the Blue Jays this season.
