Blue Jays Place 3B On The IL

The Blue Jays placed 3B Matt Chapman (right middle finger sprain) on the 10-day IL. INF Ernie Clement was recalled from Triple-A.

This is a bad news for the Blue Jays as they will certainly miss Chapman's bat in the lineup and even his glove on defense. In 125 games, Chapman is slashing .248/.338/.431, to go along with that, he has 15 HR's, 50 RBI's, and a .769 OPS.

The Blue Jays are currently fighting for a playoff spot and this is the last thing they needed. Matt Chapman is a key piece to the Toronto Blue Jays. Hopefully Chapman can make a speedy recovery.
