The Blue Jays reinstated all-star 3B, Matt Chapman off the 10-day IL. The corresponding move was that the Blue Jays sent OF Nathan Luke's to Triple-A. With this, the Blue Jays received a huge boost to not only their lineup, but also on defense.
Matt Chapman is set to become a free agent after this season. Chapman is putting up solid numbers in potentially his last season with the Blue Jays. In 126 starts, Chapman is slashing .247/.338/.428, 15 HR's, 50 RBI's, 36 doubles, and a .766 OPS.
The Blue Jays are in the hunt for a wild card spot in the American League. If they want to make it anywhere, they need Matt Chapman. They got him back, now they're ready to make a push for the playoffs.
