Blue Jays Young Star Heading To IL

The Blue Jays announced yesterday that SS Bo Bichette is heading to the 10-day IL with right knee patellar tendonitis. This came just a day after Bichette exited early after his scary slide into second base.

Many expected Bichette to lose significant time as the injury seemed to be much more severe than the reality tells. Although the time he will miss is not ideal, the news is much better than what could have been.

The Blye Jays youngster is currently having an impressive season, slashing .321/.352/.494 with 17 home runs and 59 RBI.

The news of Bichette heading to the IL is a bit easier to shallow with the recent acquisition of INF Paul DeJong who will most likely fill the shortstop hole while Bichette is rehabbing his knee.
