ATLANTA, GA: Just a few days ago, the Braves announced that they have DFA’d veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario. Rosario was outright sent to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers by the Braves after he cleared waivers, as reported by Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Rosario has more than enough MLB service time to decline an assignment outright without losing any pay.

Over the course of his ten-year big league career, the 32-year-old Rosario's 2024 season has been the poorest. Despite a dismal batting record of .175/.215/.316, he has divided the season between the Nats and Braves, collecting 319 plate appearances. Since being released in Washington and signing in Atlanta, he has slashed down .154/.181/.282 in 84 plate appearances.

Rosario, the 2021 NLCS MVP, had spent the most of the previous four seasons struggling to reach base. Though the Braves' World Series victory in 2021 was fueled by a well-timed surge that followed their trade from Cleveland to Atlanta, and although that agreement didn't work out as planned, it did pave the way for a two-year extension to return to Atlanta.

The now 32 year old will look to latch on elsewhere. However, after clearing through Atlanta’s waiver wire, it will likely be difficult and a minor league deal that Rosario will find himself signing.
