ATLANTA, GA: In the Braves Monday night’s 3-0 victory against the Marlins, Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. made franchise history once again. He swiped his 190th career base that officially puts him in first place of the Braves all-time stolen base leaderboard.
Most stolen bases in Braves franchise history since 1966:
190 - Ronald Acuña Jr.
189 - Rafael Furcal
186 - Otis Nixon
174 - Jerry Royster
160 - Dale Murphy
157 - Ron Gant
150 - Chipper Jones
138 - Andruw Jones
137 - Ralph Garr
115 - Claudell Washington
105 - Gerald Perry
The incredible part of all of this, Acuña is just 26 years old. Meaning, that this record has the possibility to be held by Acuña for years upon years from now. Acuña has proved time and time again that he is one of the most talented players in the game, this just cements that case.
Acuña’s 2024 has been off to a great start. Acuña is slashing .299/.419/.390 with one home run and nine stolen bases. Although lacking a bit in the long ball department, Acuña is hitting for contact and being an all around talent on the field.
The Braves have had their fair share of success over the years and a lot of that has to do with Acuña. His resume has spoken for itself. Acuña has racked up an MVP, Rookie of the Year Award, and has been selected to four All-Star games across his 7-year career.
