Brewers Agree to Record Deal with Their Top Prospect

The Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a eight-year, $82 million contract with 19-year-old Jackson Chourio. In the deal, there will be two club options that can max value at $142.5 million. It is a record deal for a minor leaguer. Jackson Chourio also passed his physical so the deal is 100% complete.


The highest level Jackson Chourio has played is six games at triple-a. Across Chourio's minor league career, he's started in 272 games. Jackson Chourio has slashed .286/.347/..490, with 47 HR's, 191 RBI's, and a .837 OPS. Jackson Chourio has also played at a very high level in center field across his minor league career.
