The St. Louis Cardinals continue to add to their battered rotation. Yesterday, the Cardinals announced that they have signed AL Cy Young finalist, Sonny Gray, to a three-year contract worth $75 million, that includes a club option for 2027. The club option for 2027 is worth $30 million and has $5 million buyout. He can make $100 million over four with the total contract.

Heading into this offseason, it was all about St. Louis for Sonny Gray, stating "going into this thing, I wanted to be a Cardinal." Sonny Gray had a phenomenal 2023 season, posting a 2.79 ERA and finishing second in AL Cy Young Award voting, behind Yankees' Gerrit Cole.

Gray, 34, has had a lot of ups and downs throughout his 11-year career. All of his hard work has paid off as he gets himself a nice payday and slots in as the ace of this Cardinals club. With the NL Central seemingly wide open, the Cardinals could make a lot of noise come 2024.
