Carlos Rodon Setback Continues

Carlos Rodon via New York Post

On December 21st, the New York Yankees signed SP Carlos Rodon to a massive 6-year $162M deal. Coming into the year, the Yankees had what it looked to be one of the best rotations in baseball. That hasn’t been the case so far, mainly due to injuries.

Towards the end of Spring Training Rodon started dealing with back issues. At first, Yankees manager, Aaron Boone told reporters that the best case scenario is April. Well, unfortunately for the New York Yankees, that hasn’t been the case.

On Friday, Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch came out with the latest update on Carlos Rodon. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good one. Carlos Rodon told reporters that he has been told his back issue is “chronic.” Rodon, is scheduled to have a cortisone injection next week.

Carlos Rodon was asked if a return date of July is realistic. Rodon told reporters “I can't put a timeline on anything. I'll get this injection and I want to throw as soon as I can.”
