Carlos Rodón is Officially Back, Not the Yankees Offense

There has been quite the narrative surrounding the New York Yankees this season, all pitching and no offense. It's no secret the Yankees are a horrific team without their captain, Aaron Judge. One positive the fanbase can look forward to is their other big free agent signing, Carlos Rodón.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was asked about Rodón and if he would have a pitch count in his first start as a Yankee, he declined to answer. Rodón would finish his first start with a line of 5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K and finishing with 69 pitches.

On the flip side, former Yankee Jameson Taillon pitched a gem. Going 8 innings of one hit ball, the stagnant Yankee offense provided no support for their newest Yankee. What makes that sting a bit more for the Bronx Bombers is Jameson Taillon entered tonight with a 6.93 ERA.

The Yankees desperately need some sort of change when it comes to the offense. Once again, last night consisted of their starters giving them a chance to stay in the game and the offense doing nothing in return. The Yankees now find themselves out of a playoff spot and in 4th place of the AL East after last night's loss.
