D-Backs Get First Baseman Back From IL

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated INF Christian Walker from the 10-day IL. Walker has been on the injured list due to his oblique. Unfortunately, the club had to place starting outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. on the 10-day IL with a strained left calf.

Christian Walker has been on the injured list since July 30th. It was the first time that Walker has been on the IL since 2021. That shows how healthy of a player Christian Walker is for the D-Backs.

For the Diamondbacks, this was a good move but also unfortunate. Christian Walker is one of their best players and he gives them a ton on both sides. Although, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went on the IL and he gives the D-Backs a lot on the offensive side also.

Christian Walker is having yet another really productive season. He’s been good on the offensive side and great on the defensive side. In 107 games, Walker is slashing .254/.338/.476, with 23 HR, 71 RBI, and a .814 OPS.

The D-Backs are in a good spot to make the playoffs. Getting Christian Walker back right now just in time for a playoff push is a great win for them. Walker will certainly help them make the playoffs again.
