The Arizona Diamondbacks INF Jordan Lawlar is expected to undergo right thumb surgery and miss at least a couple of months. According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. Lawlar is just 21-years old and is the MLB's No. 11 prospect. Jordan Lawlar made his debut in the MLB last year.

It was just a short time last year that Jordan Lawlar got in the show. Lawlar appeared in just 14 total games last year in the MLB, so it was a small sample size. Jordan Lawlar didn't have much time to prove himself last year in the MLB, and now it'll have to wait even longer after the injury news.

Jordan Lawlar may have not had a lot of chances at the big stage last year, although, there will be many years ahead that he will. Lawlar has torn it up in MiLB, especially in 2023. He made 105 total starts between AA and AAA in 2023, Jordan Lawlar slashed .278/.378/.496, with 20 HR's, 67 RBI's, and a .874 OPS.

The Diamondbacks definitely have a star in the making with Jordan Lawlar. It's an unfortunate start to the 2024 season for the Diamondbacks and Jordan Lawlar. Hopefully Jordan Lawlar can make a speedy recovery and be back and playing in the MLB in no time. There's not much need for the Diamondbacks to rush this injury with Jordan Lawlar, he's a young player.
