The Arizona Diamondbacks are in agreement with infielder Kevin Newman on a minor-league deal. This is a move that adds depth to the Arizona Diamondbacks infield. Teams can never have enough depth, just in case something happens and they need someone.

Kevin Newman has been in the MLB for six seasons. His first five seasons, he spent with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kevin Newman spent just one season with the Cincinnati Reds, in 2023. Now, he will play with the Diamondbacks in 2024.

Kevin Newman has always been a solid player. His defense was always decent, and his bat was always productive. Newman has played in 505 career games, he's slashed .259/.304/.358, with 23 HR's, 171 RBI's, and a .662 OPS.

The Diamondbacks infield is pretty much set. Although, if Kevin Newman works hard in spring training and performs well, he could be on the Diamondbacks opening day roster as a bench piece. We'll be able to see how the Diamondbacks decide to use him once spring training is over.
