Yesterday, the Dodgers announced that they have placed LHP Clayton Kershaw on the 15-day IL with a left shoulder injury. Which is retroactive from June 30.
Kershaw has seemingly turned back the clock in 2023 and is producing at a very high level for Los Angeles. Kershaw is 10-4 on the year and is currently sporting a 2.55 ERA. Dodger fans have had their hearts warmed with Kershaw's performance.
The Dodgers are no stranger to pitching injures this season and has worked through it quite nicely for what it's worth. However, that does not mean Kershaw's injury hurts any less.
With the Dodgers sitting at 46-37, currently second in the NL West, their ace heading to the IL is not what that could have hoped for. However, they are in reaching distance and just need to stay afloat until they are ready to make their October push, fully healthy.
