This Winter, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed top free-agent starting pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a record 12-year, $325 million deal. Yamamoto came over to the MLB from Japan, and he is one of the most electrifying pitchers to come from Japan.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto made his first Spring Training start yesterday, and many people were looking forward to it. Yoshinobu Yamamoto did not disappoint in his first outing against major league players.
Yesterday, Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a total of 19 pitches. Of those 19 pitches, 16 of them were thrown for strikes. Yamamoto's official line was, 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K's. The only hit that Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up was a single to Rangers outfielder Evan Carter.
Many people would say the Dodgers are lucky to have Yoshinobu Yamamoto on their team. If Yamamoto can fully adjust to MLB hitting, it's going to be cool to watch him pitch every five days.
