It was announced that on late saturday night, Los Angeles Dodgers starter Julio Urías was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence charges late last night, stated an officer with the LAPD. Urias, 27, was booked late and released early yesterday morning on $50,000 bond per Jeff Passan of ESPN.
The Dodgers announced a statment on the situation:
We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías. While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.
This marks the second arrest for Julio Urías in the past for years for domestic violence. While he was not charged in 2019, the league did suspend him for 20-games. The league is still investigating the situation, but Urías did not travel with the team to Miami.
Urías has been one of the best starters in the last few seasons. However, in 2023 Urías is sporting a 11-8 record with a 4.60 ERA.
