For the second time this season, the Los Angeles Dodgers have placed starter Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day injured list. This time, it’s for his elbow tendinitis. LHP Justin Wrobleski was recalled from Triple-A by the Dodgers to take the spot of Glasnow.

The Dodgers acquired Tyler Glasnow this past off-season from the Tampa Bay Rays. They also gave him an extension to lock him up for the future. Glasnow has a history of injuries, and the Dodgers were hoping that it would change this year.

Tyler Glasnow is having a really solid year this season. He was an All-Star but couldn’t pitch in it due to a different injury. It’s unfortunate for Tyler Glasnow because when he’s on the field, he has the potential to be one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Since Tyler Glasnow made his MLB debut in 2016, here is a list of how many games he pitched in each year.

2016: 7

2017: 15

2018: 45 (was in the bullpen)

2019: 12

2020: 11 (shortened season)

2021: 14

2022: 2

2023: 21

2024: 22

Besides the injures, Tyler Glasnow has been a top tier pitcher. He’s been eating innings and pitching at a high level. In 22 starts, Glasnow pitched 134 IP. He has posted a 9-6 record, 3.49 ERA, 168 strikeouts, and a 0.95 WHIP.

The Dodgers will now be without Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Padres and Diamondbacks are closing in on their division lead so this injury to Tyler Glasnow comes at the worst time.
