The Dodgers placed all-star DH, J.D. Martinez on the 10-day IL. This will be the second time Martinez has landed on the IL this year. This time, Martinez was placed on the IL due to left groin tightness. The Dodgers called up Michael Busch to take Martinez's spot on the roster for now.
J.D. Martinez is putting together a really nice season. There's a reason J.D. Martinez was the starting DH for the National League all-star team this year. In 92 games, Martinez is slashing .256/.309/.547, 25 HR's, 78 RBI's, and a .856 OPS.
The Dodgers are currently going to miss J.D. Martinez's bat in their lineup. Although, the Dodgers have a very comfortable lead in the NL West. Hopefully J.D. Martinez will be able to recover quickly and be back soon.
