Dodgers Rotation Continues to Thin, Righty Placed on IL

LOS ANGELES, CA: The Dodgers announced that they have placed 7-year veteran pitcher, Walker Buehler on the 15-day injured list. He's had inflammation in his right hip to cope with. That is the equivalent action for Bobby Miller's 15-day IL stay to be lifted.

This is familiar territory for both the Dodgers and Buehler. It’s no secret that Buehler has been punched with the injury bug more than once in his career. Since his comeback from his second Tommy John surgery of the season, Buehler hasn't looked like himself.

Eight times since he was activated on May 6, he has taken the ball. Across 37 innings, Buehler has a 5.84 ERA with concerning underlying metrics. Ten home runs (2.43/9) have already been hit by opponents, and his strikeout percentage has fallen to a career-low 18.5%.

The Dodgers' rotation will become shorthanded as a result, once again. Roberts stated as recently as late last week that with Miller's return, L.A. would switch to a six-man unit. Since Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Buehler have been shut down, Miller is joined by Tyler Glasnow, Gavin Stone, and James Paxton.
