Late last night, Yankees RHP Domingo Germán etched is name into baseball immortality. In route to the Yankees 11-0 victory over the Athletics, Domingo Germán pitched a perfect game.

Coming off a start where Germán allowed 10 runs against the Mariners, this start was crucial to getting him back on track. What happened was that and more. In addition to Domingo's perfect game, he is the first Dominican to throw a perfect game in MLB history.

Germán was lights out from the beginning of the game where the Yankees needed him to hold down the fort, as they looked to even up the series. The 9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 9 K's is all that's needed to see.

Germán joins an elite group of other Yankees to pitch a perfect game. Don Larsen, David Wells, and David Cone is the historic group Domingo will forever be apart of. It is also worth mentioning that the Yankees went on to win the Fall Classic in each year they threw a perfect game.

Last night, Domingo Germán completed one of the most difficult feats to achieve in the game of baseball. He did it when his team needed it the most and will look to build on that historic performance for the rest of the season.
