Former All-Star Looked Great in his First Start Back with the Blue Jays

Alek Manoah Via Talkin’ Baseball

Every baseball fan knows how much of a rollercoaster of a season it's been for Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah. Up until yesterday, it was one to forget for the former all-star, Alek Manoah.

A few starts ago, the Blue Jays decided to send him all the way down to rookie ball, those being teenagers. In his first start, against the New York Yankees' Florida Complex team, he went 2 2/3 innings, giving up 11 runs on 10 hits.

The Blue Jays decided to send him back up to Double A. It was a much better go around for him. His line was, 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, and 10 SO.

The Blue Jays made the decision to bring him back up to the MLB to face the Detroit Tigers yesterday. Alek Manoah shined, he pitched 6 innings, 5 hits allowed, 1 earned run, 0 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Helping the Blue Jays pickup a 12-2 victory.

It's certainly a step in the right direction for Alek Manoah. When Alek Manoah is right, he's a top pitcher in the MLB. He will look to build off this start, and look to become the pitcher he was last year.
