The Pittsburgh Pirates and free-agent outfielder Michael A. Taylor are in agreement on a one-year, $4 million contract. According to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Michael A. Taylor has spent his 10 seasons in the MLB with three different teams. From 2014-2020, Taylor was on the Washington Nationals, from 2021-2022 Taylor was on the Kansas City Royals, and in 2023 Michael A. Taylor spent the season with the Minnesota Twins.

Michael A. Taylor has always been a well known player. That's because he's had a very solid career. Michael A. Taylor was a 2019 World Series Champion with the Nationals. Taylor is also a very good defender, he is a 1x Gold Glove winner.

The Pirates are getting a pretty good player who hits for contact and has some pop in his bat. Last year with the Twins, Michael A. Taylor played in 129 games, he slashed .220/.278/.442, with 21 HR's, 51 RBI's, and a .720 OPS. The 21 HR's are the most Taylor ever hit in one season.

The Pirates will be able to use Michael A. Taylor as a depth piece in the outfield. Taylor is going to be a good clubhouse guy on the Pirates who are a young and upcoming team. It'll be interesting to see how the Pirates use Michael A. Taylor in 2024.
