Yesterday, the San Francisco Giants fired Farhan Zaidi. Zaidi has served as the Giants president of baseball operations. Farhan Zaidi was the Giants president of baseball operations for six long seasons.
Just a few minutes after Jeff Passan of ESPN reported the news of Farhan Zaidi, he announced that Giants legend Buster Posey is taking over as the president of baseball operations for the team after Farhan Zaidi's firing.
This is a cool moment for all of Giants fans. Buster Posey has always been a loved player in San Francisco. He won three MVP’s in his time in San Francisco. Posey spent his whole entire career with the Giants.
Here is his accomplishments with the Giants:
7× All-Star
3× WS Champ
2012 NL MVP
2010 NL ROY
2016 Gold Glove
4× Silver Slugger
2012 NL Batting Champ
.302 Career BA
Buster Posey will now go from a player to a major role in the Giants front office. Posey will now get final say on what free agency/trades happen. It’s an exciting thing for Buster Posey to do after spending so many years with the Giants as a player.
