Giants Make a Big Splash, Landing All-Star Third Baseman

The San Francisco Giants and third baseman, Matt Chapman have agreed to a deal. It's a three-year deal worth $54 million. The deal includes two opt-outs after each of the first two seasons. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

 

Matt Chapman's contract breakdown:

2024: $20 million

2025: $18 million

2026: $16 million.

 

Matt Chapman has won a decent amount of awards throughout his career. Although, there's a side of Chapman's game that really stands out and that is defense. Matt Chapman is a four-time Gold Glove winner and a two-time Platnium Glove winner.


The last two seasons Matt Chapman has spent with the Toronto Blue Jays. He played most of his career with the Oakland Athletics. He's always been solid on the offensive side. In 2023, Chapman made 140 starts, he slashed .240/.330/.424, with 17 HR's, 54 RBI's, and a .755 OPS.
