Giants Place Veteran Third Baseman on Waivers

The San Francisco Giants have placed INF J.D. Davis on wavers. Per, Robert Murray of FanSided. Davis mainly plays third base, but he can also play first base and some outfield. J.D. Davis automatically became a candidate to be moved after the Giants signed star third baseman Matt Chapman. Now, any team can sign J.D. Davis.


J.D. Davis has been playing in the MLB for seven seasons. It's been a productive MLB career. Davis has spent his seven seasons with the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants. Davis, 30, will now be on a new club in 2024.


J.D. Davis is a solid bat, especially when it comes to power. David can also play defense at a decent level. In 2023, J.D. Davis started in 144 games for the Giants, he slashed .248/.325/.413, with 18 HR's, 69 RBI's, and a .738 OPS. The 18 HR's Davis hit is his second most in a single season.


There will likely be many teams in on J.D. Davis. He can play multiple positions which is a key factor in today's baseball. J.D. Davis can either be a really good bat off the bench, or he can start games for any team who could use him.
