MLB has officially reached the All-Star break. Today is the home run derby and tomorrow will be the official All-Star game. Teams know where they stand and how much of a chance they have to be a contender. Not only teams, but so have the players. One of those are Blake Snell. He got off to a rough start, and now he’s back on track.
This past off-season, Blake Snell was one of the biggest free-agent starting pitchers. Snell decided to sign with the San Francisco Giants on a two-year, $62 million deal. He was also dealing with injuries.
Blake Snell now looks to be all the way back to being the pitcher everyone knows he is. In Snell’s last two starts, he has pitched 12 innings, 2 hits allowed, 0 ER, 11 SO, and just 3 BB.
After his two great starts, Snell’s ERA on the season is down to 6.31. That ERA just goes to show everyone how much of a tough first few starts with the Giants it was for Blake Snell. He has only pitched 35.2 IP on the season.
The Giants will need Blake Snell to pitch like this for the rest of the season. They won’t be able to afford their biggest free-agent signing to struggle like he was. As long as Blake Snell is healthy, he can be one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.
