The Texas Rangers held a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Houston Astros, as the series went back to Arlington. The Rangers were looking to go up 3-0 and seal the deal with a World Series appearance. However, the defending champions had other ideas.

The Astros offense got to Max Scherzer early, kicking him out after just 4 innings and 5 earned runs. Yordan Alvarez and Martin Maldonado each had a pair of RBI and with the help of a few others, the Astros were able to coast to a 8-5 victory and cut the series to 2-1.

Christain Javier got the job done for the Astros after pitching 5.2 innings and allowing just 2 earned runs. The Astros and Rangers will now play game 4 tonight with Astros' Jose Urquidy and Texas' Andrew Heaney toeing the slab.
