Joey Votto may have just played his last game in a Reds uniform in front of the home crowd. Although the jury is still out on whether the 40-year old will make his retirement announcement, one can only speculate. So, the question arises, is Joey Votto on his way to Cooperstown?
Votto has spent his entire 17-year career with the Cincinnati Reds and is arguably one of their best players of all time. In 17 seasons, Votto has compiled 2,135 hits, 356 HR, 459 doubles. He also has a career slash line of .295/.409/.511 and has a career WAR of 64.4.
The longtime Red has also made a bit of history along the way. He led MLB in OBP 7 different times, only 1 of 5 players to reach base 3500+ times in less than 9000 plate appearances, top 30 all time in OBP, and top 40 all time in OPS.
