With the signings of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the free agent market is expected to pick up. One of those expected to go quickly is OF/DH Jorge Soler. Soler has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Marlins and was an all-star in 2023. His talented power bat has all the makings of earning him a nice contract.
Soler slashed .250/.341/.512 with 36 home runs, while posting a 126 wRC+. Soler has had his fair share of injury issues over the last few seasons, but when healthy, can be a huge difference maker in any lineup.
Soler has been connected to a few clubs such as the Mariners, Cubs, Yankees, Diamondbacks, and Red Sox.
Jorge Soler is a fit for any of those mentioned franchises. However, the two that seemingly need the help the most would be Boston and Seattle. With both teams falling behind in their respective divisions, Soler could very well be the bat to boost their lineup's chances.
