Longtime Yankee Pitcher Out For Season

The Yankees have had one mainstay in their rotation over the last 8 years. Luis Severino made his MLB debut in 2015 and has been through it all. The highs and the lows. Yesterday, he received likely the lowest news he could have.

Luis Severino suffered a "left oblique high strain" and is out for the rest of 2023. He very well threw his last pitch in a Yankee uniform. Severino has had an abysmal 2023 season. Pitching to a 4-8 record with a 6.65 ERA and just 79 strikeouts. His worst season in the bigs.

Severino has gone to being the ace of this team to barely holding a spot in the rotation. With the season he put together as well as the consistent injury issues, the chances of him being back in the Bronx next season are slim. Severino will rehab for the rest of 2023, in hopes to be ready for the 2024 season.
