Los Angeles Angels Devastating News Gives no Hope For a Playoff Push

The Los Angeles Angels have always been deemed as a "cursed" franchise by baseball fans. That claim was backed up last night. After making his return from the IL just a few days ago, Mike Trout finds himself back on the IL. Shohei Ohtani also received bad news when it was announced that he had tore his UCL.

Mike Trout was reinstated from the IL and played just one game before being placed back on the IL. Both of these IL stints are coming from the on going wrist issue that Trout has dealt with this season.

Shohei Ohtani was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow and will not throw another pitch this season. Ohtani will now spend the rest of 2023 as the Angels DH. That now marks the second torn UCL of Ohtani's career.

The Los Angeles Angels threw all their chips in at the trade deadline to make a push for Ohtani to stay for years to come. The Angels are currently 10.5 games back of a wildcard spot and can just about write their 2023 off.
