Yesterday, the Chicago Cubs faced off against arguably the best team in baseball, being the Tampa Bay Rays. The Cubs had Marcus Stroman on the bump. He did not disappoint.
Marcus Stroman tossed a complete game shutout against the Rays. Giving up just 1 hit to the Rays, the only hit from the Rays was a single from Wander Franco. Stroman’s line was, 9 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 8 strikeouts. This was very impressive to do against the best team in baseball, record wise (39-17).
Marcus Stroman has been one of MLB’s best pitchers thus far through the 2023 season. He has a 2.59 ERA, 73 IP, 62 SO, and a 0.99 WHIP. Stroman has undoubtedly been the Cubs ACE. The Cubs will eventually look to lock up Stroman for the future.
