Marlins Young Pitcher Experiencing Elbow Soreness

The Miami Marlins announced the day after starting pitcher Eury Perez exited his start early on Wednesday due to discomfort from his broken nail, Perez is now dealing elbow soreness in his pitching arm. According to Jon Heyman of the NY Post. Eury Perez will visit with surgeon Keith Meister.

Eury Perez's injury went from bad to worse. From a broken nail, to dealing with soreness in Perez's pitching elbow. The Marlins will now be without Eury Perez, Sandy Alcantara, Edward Cabrera, and Braxton Garrett to begin the 2024 season.

From Marlins reporter Craig Mish:

"I don’t know the severity of Eury Perez elbow just yet but from what I am hearing I think it’s fair to say Marlins rotation will look nothing like they thought to begin the season. Huge trouble."

Eury Perez made his MLB debut last year and impressed a lot of people in the Miami Marlins organization. In 19 starts and 91.1 IP, Perez had a 5-6 record, 3.15 ERA, 108 K's, 31 BB's, and a 1.128 WHIP.

As of right now, no one knows how mad Eury Perez's injury is. Although, the information that everyone has right now is not good at all. Anytime a pitcher has soreness in their pitching elbow is not good. Hopefully this is something where Eury Perez will be able to heal quickly.
