The New York Mets signed outfielder Trayce Thompson to a minor league deal. In addition, the Mets invited him to spring training with an opportunity to make the opening day roster. Last year, Trayce Thompson was apart of the Dodgers and the White Sox.

In 2023, Trayce Thompson had a down year. In total, Thompson played a total of 72 games. Thompson slashed .163/.285/.294, with just 6 HR's, 17 RBI's, and a .579 OPS. It was one of the worst seasons Trayce Thompson has ever had.

Although, Trayce Thompson has shown flashes of being a solid player. For example, in 2022, Thompson slashed .256/.353/.507, with 13 HR's, 41 RBI's, and a .860 OPS. Now that was one of Trayce Thompson's best seasons.

This isn't a huge move for the Mets, but it's worth a shot. As shown above, Trayce Thompson has shown flashes of being a solid player. This move could turn out to be a solid move, it's going to be interesting to see how Thompson does in spring training.
