Nationals Hire Former MLB Pitcher as a Pitching Strategist

The Washington Nationals have hired former left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle as a pitching strategist. Doolittle recently retired. He quickly turns the next chapter in his baseball career, from an MLB pitcher, to staying in the game as a pitching strategist with his team that he was best on in his playing career. Sean Doolittle just retired last year, he made his decision on what he wanted to do next in his career.


Sean Doolittle spent eleven seasons as a MLB pitcher. He spent his eleven years with four different ball clubs. From 2012-2016 he played with the Oakland Athletics, From 2017-2020 he played for the Washington Nationals, in 2021 Doolittle pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners, and in his final year Doolittle played for the Washington Nationals again.


Sean Doolittle is a one-time World Series Champion, he won it with the Nationals in 2019. Sean Doolittle pitched in 463 MLB games and he pitched 450.2 IP. Doolittle had a career 3.20 ERA, 522 SO, 130 ERA+, 112 saves, 1.014 WHIP, and a 9.9 WAR. Sean Doolittle was a pretty good pitcher his whole career, you could always rely on him.


Sean Doolittle will serve as a pitching strategist with the Nationals. Some people may ask what he will do. He will be in the analytics department and pitching staff, also, he will be assisting the manager and pitching coach with strategies. Sean Doolittle is a pretty good pitcher to have as a pitching strategist.
